Alright, let me tell ya ’bout fishin’ ’round Beaufort, South Carolina. Folks been catchin’ a whole mess of ’em, ya know?
August time fishin’, well, it’s somethin’ else. All them fish that like to swim around, they’re here. Big ones, small ones, all kinds. Tarpon, them Jacks, Triple tail, and them big ol’ Bull redfish. You name it, they’re probably bitin’.
Them fishin’ fellas, the guides, they sayin’ the same thing. Seein’ plenty of speckled trout, redfish, black drum, and some real big bluefish. Said it’s as good as it gets, this fall fishin’. Catchin’ a good bunch, too, not just one or two.
- Now, close to the shore, you got your trout and redfish. Them black seabass, they showin’ up too.
- And then, a little further out, the barracuda and amberjack are hangin’ around. May is when you start seein’ them cobia.
- But when summer comes, it’s all about the tuna. Big ones, way out in the deep water.
But it ain’t just the saltwater fish. In them creeks and rivers, you got crappie, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, catfish, trout, stripers, and hybrids. All bitin’ in different spots, ya just gotta find ’em.
Want to know when the tide’s right? Go look at that NOAA website. They got all that tide information, ya know, for all them spots ’round here in South Carolina. And if you wanna know where the fish are bitin’, there’s this website, *. They tell ya ’bout the fishin’ trends.
Some weeks are better than others, though. Just last week, it was kinda in-between. Not bad, not great, just… in-between. But that’s fishin’ for ya. One day it’s hot, the next it’s cold.
Now, if you’re lookin’ for spots to fish, there’s plenty around Beaufort. You got Battery Creek, that’s a good one. And Distant Island Creek, up at the upper end. Lots of places to drop a line.
If you want to get them fishin’ reports, you can sign up for ’em. They got these fellas in Columbia, South Carolina, sendin’ ’em out. Tell ya what’s bitin’ and where.
So, that’s the fishin’ report, plain and simple. Lots of fish, all kinds, bitin’ in different spots. Go find ya a good spot, drop a line, and see what ya catch. And don’t forget to check them tides and them fishin’ trends. That’ll help ya out.
Good luck, and happy fishin’! Hope ya catch a big one!
Remember, safety first. Don’t go out alone and always tell someone where you’re going and when you’ll be back. Fishin’ is fun, but it ain’t worth gettin’ hurt over.
And don’t forget your sunscreen and bug spray! Them mosquitos and the sun can be fierce, especially in the summer.
And one more thing, if you catch a small fish, let it go. Let it grow up so someone else can catch it later. It’s the right thing to do, ya know?
